Every year we have a theme for James’ birthday parties. Last year it was a Minions theme. This year we got a little more creative. As we were throwing out ideas, I asked Stacy what she thought about 007 and make it a James Bond themed party? He was going to be 7, and James Bond’s code name was 007 so it kind of made sense.

I apologize that I won’t be posting too many pictures because it would require too much editing to blur out people’s faces, which is something I do for privacy reasons.

Stacy, James and I wore t-shirts with a tuxedo print on them:

Jeff, James, and Stacy pose together indoors, with James seated in a specialized wheelchair and Jeff and Stacy leaning in close on either side. All three wear matching black shirts printed with tuxedo designs featuring red bow ties and red roses. The setting includes a wooden floor, a red rug near a doorway, and a kitchen area in the background where two other people are visible, giving the scene a warm, at‑home celebration feel.

We had one of those instant cameras so that each of our guests (kids and adults) could take a picture doing their best spy pose if they wanted. Stacy made up a sign for photos, but realized that it wasn’t wide enough to fit PHOTO straight across, so it looked like this:

Jeff stands in the kitchen holding a handmade cardboard sign that reads “TAKE YOUR PHOTO,” with the word “YOUR” written in black marker between larger red letters. He is wearing a black T‑shirt printed with a tuxedo design featuring a red bow tie and red rose. Behind him are wooden cabinets, a white microwave, and several Route 66 signs from different states on the wall, giving the scene a lighthearted, themed‑party atmosphere.
Stacy couldn’t fit PHOTO straight across the sign…

Me, being the smart ass, quickly pointed out a problem with her sign:

Jeff stands in the kitchen holding a handmade cardboard sign that reads “TAKE YOUR PHOTO with the word “YOUR” written in smaller black letters between the large red ones. His hands are covering to "H" and "T" in PHOTO, so the sign appears to asy "TAKE YOUR POO". Jeff is wearing a black tuxedo‑print T‑shirt with a red bow tie and red rose. Behind him are wooden cabinets, a white microwave, a countertop with sliced bread and a knife block, and several Route 66 signs on the wall, creating a humorous moment in an otherwise ordinary kitchen.
Come on, that’s funny!

We have a bulletin board that we normally use for James’ artwork where they could pin up their pictures.

A beige fabric‑covered bulletin board displays the words “I SPY” in large black letters at the top. Below, dozens of small instant photos are pinned with colorful pushpins, each showing different people. Near the bottom, a small paper labeled “TOP SECRET” is attached.

We also had special “Top Secret” badges made up that our guest could take. Some of the kids used them to show off their artwork:

Three small cards sit on a speckled countertop, each labeled “TOP SECRET – International Fulkerson Spy Agency.” The top left card includes a hand‑drawn yellow circle with sunglasses beside a blue diamond shape, with the word “emoji” written underneath. The top right card has the same printed heading with green scribbles added. The bottom card features a simple drawing of a dog‑like figure with long ears and a tail. Together they look like homemade spy‑agency badges from a playful, imaginative activity.

And we had a special cake and cupcakes courtesy of Icing Smiles. They always do an amazing job.

A two‑tier cake decorated in a black‑and‑white tuxedo style sits on a red tablecloth, topped with a small “007” card and a circular plaque reading “Happy Birthday 007 James.” Surrounding the cake are trays of cupcakes frosted in white with black fondant bow ties and buttons, echoing the tuxedo theme. Wooden chairs and shelves with colorful storage bins appear in the background.

I still can’t believe that James is 7 years old.

James sits in a wheelchair at a table covered with a red tablecloth, wearing a black shirt printed with a tuxedo, red bow tie, red rose, and a “TOP SECRET” tag. In front of him is a two‑tier James Bond–themed cake decorated like a tuxedo, topped with a “007” card and a circular “Happy Birthday 007 James” label. Trays of cupcakes with tuxedo‑style frosting surround the cake. Several children sit around the table watching, creating a lively, themed birthday celebration scene.

Another fun party in the books.
