A wooden sign hangs on a door, decorated with colorful ribbon. The sign features a cartoon monkey, a party hat, balloons, and a small star sticker. Bold lettering reads “HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMES” with the word “Celebrate!” underneath. The overall look is bright, playful, and festive, marking James’s birthday with a personalized touch.

For James birthday party this year, we did a Hot Wheels theme, but before we look at some pictures from this year’s party, I thought you may want to take a quick look back at his past birthdays. I’ll put links to his other birthday posts below the picture collage if you’d like to see pictures from previous parties. If not, just scroll down to the pictures of this year’s party.

A collage features multiple photos of James at different ages, each one showing him in a themed birthday shirt. The shirts display various numbers — including 2, 4, 5, and 11 — along with designs like cartoon characters, race cars, and other festive graphics. The background of the collage repeats the phrase “happy birthday” in colorful cursive text. Together, the images form a visual timeline of James growing up through his birthdays, highlighting the changing shirts and the cheerful tradition behind them.
Look how much he has grown over the years.

A large “Happy Birthday” banner is attached to a white garage door. The banner is brightly colored and features several stylized racing cars in green, blue, red, and orange, each shown with flames or motion streaks behind them. The words “Happy Birthday” appear in big yellow letters outlined in red, with a flame graphic on the left side reminiscent of a racing‑themed logo. The overall look is loud, fast, and festive, perfect for a car‑themed birthday celebration.

Several helium balloons float in a front yard on a sunny day. The cluster includes metallic red and blue star‑shaped balloons and others decorated with Hot Wheels‑style cars and racetrack graphics. Behind them is a neatly mowed lawn, a brick‑bordered flower bed, and a beige single‑story house with a circular wall ornament. The sky is clear and blue, giving the scene a cheerful, celebratory feel.

A square metallic balloon is held outdoors against a clear blue sky. The balloon features the Hot Wheels logo and three brightly colored race cars driving on looping orange tracks — a green car at the top, a yellow off‑road vehicle on the left, and a blue sports car on the right. A hand wearing colorful beaded bracelets holds the balloon, with a grassy yard visible in the background. The overall look is playful and energetic, matching a racing‑themed birthday celebration.

A group of colorful balloons floats outdoors, tied together with orange ribbons. The cluster includes solid red, orange, and blue balloons, along with printed red and orange balloons that feature a race car, a checkered flag, and the words “HAPPY BIRTHDAY.” The background shows a yard with fencing and part of a house structure, giving the scene an outdoor party feel with a bright racing theme.

Three people stand in a kitchen serving themselves food onto red plates, with a dog nearby on the wooden floor. The counters are covered with dishes, including bowls of fruit salad and trays of sandwiches. Wooden cabinets line the walls, with a microwave above the counter. Two trash bins sit in the foreground. Above the cabinets, decorative Route 66 signs display different states, adding a themed touch to the space. The scene captures a casual, friendly gathering during meal prep.

A group of people sits under a wooden pergola in a backyard, gathered around a long table covered with a blue tablecloth. Drinks, snacks, and small decorations are spread across the table. A sign reading “FULKERSON PIKE” is attached to one of the pergola beams. In the background, the yard includes a shed, a grill, and colorful balloons tied near the table. Trees and a fence frame the space, giving the scene a relaxed, celebratory atmosphere.

A two‑tiered racing‑themed cake sits inside an open cardboard box on a wooden surface. The bottom tier is wrapped in a black‑and‑white checkered pattern like a racing flag, with a silver “14” centered on the front. The top tier is blue with orange and yellow flame graphics and the Hot Wheels logo. A small toy race car appears to be driving up the side of the cake. The top is decorated with black and white spherical accents and small checkered flags, giving the whole cake a bold, high‑energy racing look.

Three people pose together outdoors under a covered patio. James sits in his wheelchair at the center, with Stacy and Jeff standing beside him. A racing‑themed birthday cake sits on a table in front of them, decorated with a black‑and‑white checkered pattern, flames, small car accents, and the Hot Wheels logo. Jeff and Stacy wear matching shirts labeled “Mommy Pit Crew” and “Daddy Pit Crew,” each with racing graphics. Behind them is the exterior of a house, a fenced yard, coolers, and a wooden swing set. The scene captures a celebratory birthday moment with a strong racing motif.

James sits outdoors at a table in his wheelchair, wearing a black Hot Wheels shirt and sunglasses. In front of him is a two‑tiered birthday cake: the bottom tier has a black‑and‑white checkered pattern with a silver “14,” and the top tier is blue with white clouds, toy cars, flames, and the words “JAMES” and “HOT WHEELS.” Coolers, a wooden swing, and a grill sit in the background, giving the scene a relaxed backyard celebration feel.

At some of the previous birthday parties, we had gift bags for the kids to take home with them. This year we did something a bit different. Going with the Hot Wheels theme, we bought several MEGA Hot Wheels kits on Amazon for the kids to put together and take home with them. Some of the kids built their cars and took them home, but a few put their cars together and left them for James to enjoy. How nice was that?

Five toy vehicles built from LEGO‑style bricks are displayed on a wooden shelf. Towards the back of the shelf is a large orange and black monster truck with tiger‑stripe patterns and a shark‑like face on the front. In front of the monster truck are four smaller cars: a red car with flame decals and exposed engine pieces, a silver and blue car marked with the number 86, a blue car with a yellow driver figure seated inside, and a green sports‑style car with black and lime‑green accents. The toys are arranged neatly, showing off their varied colors and designs.

I don’t know what the theme will be next year but I’m pretty sure Stacy is already thinking about it!
