As I mentioned in the We Bought a House post, we are postponing James’ birthday party for a month or two. We have a lot of work to do at the new house before we move in and get settled. But we couldn’t not celebrate James on his actual birthday. So, here’s to you James. You made it through another year! We all made it through another year. I’d like to say it’s gotten easier, and in some cases, it has…but we still have quite a few stressful moments. It’s worth it, though. I mean just look at this kid:

James lies on a monkey‑patterned blanket outdoors, wearing glasses, a red and white crown‑style birthday hat, and a white shirt decorated with colorful text and images celebrating his second birthday. Sunlight brightens the grass around him, creating a cheerful moment of outdoor celebration.

James lies on a bright green blanket wearing glasses and a white shirt decorated with colorful birthday graphics and a large red number “2.” He holds a brown stuffed monkey with a green ribbon, creating a cheerful outdoor moment that marks his second birthday.

If you didn’t notice from the pictures above, James’ birthday theme this year is Handy Manny. It just seemed perfect. He seems to enjoy watching the Handy Manny show on Disney, and now he is watching mommy and daddy work on the new house. I wish he was just a little bit older so he could help out. Maybe someday.
