I celebrated my birthday a few days ago and it’s customary for us to get a couple of slices of Portillo’s chocolate cake for our birthdays. Best cake ever! If you live in the Chicago area, you know what I’m talking about. Here’s a pic of James helping mommy eat her slice. If only he was able to eat by mouth. We joked about taking a small piece of the cake and blending it so he could get it through his g-tube. Still wouldn’t be the same, though. You need to taste it.

Stacy holds James in her arms while he sleeps in patterned pajamas. His relaxed hand rests on a paper plate with a piece of Portillo's chocolate cake Stacy is holding, creating a humorous, tender moment.

My mom ordered her grandkids chairs with their names on them before Christmas, but they didn’t arrive in time to be opened at Christmas. They were delivered a couple of weeks late. Here is a pic of James in his chair:

James sits in a dark armchair with his name embroidered on the backrest. He wears green striped pajamas, matching green socks, and glasses, resting comfortably in a cozy living room with wooden floors, a green upholstered chair, a brick fireplace, and a small round table with a plant nearby. The scene feels quiet and homey with James at the center.

Stacy thought that James could use a little bit of a haircut so today she decided to give it a shot. I was at work, so I wasn’t there to assist. I think she did a pretty good job.

James lies on a light green cushion, wearing glasses and a gray‑and‑orange outfit. His freshly trimmed hair visible as he rests against the soft surface. A red background frames the quiet indoor moment with James at the center.
