Back in October when James when James was still in the NICU, the ENT noted that James has some fluid in his ears and that fluid might be part of the reason why he hasn’t passed any hearing tests. Unfortunately, James was too young back then for ear tubes to help drain the fluid. I guess a baby can’t get ear tubes until they are at least 6 months old. Now that James is 7 months old, he was finally old enough to get tubes. He was scheduled to have them put in tomorrow morning. That was until Stacy got a call at 3:00 pm from the hospital saying that the appointment has been cancelled.
Apparently, the hospital didn’t get all of the required paperwork in time. We’ve had this appointment scheduled for about a month. What do you mean you didn’t get all of the paperwork?! You’ve had a month. How much paperwork is required to put those tiny tubes in a kid’s ears? Maybe if you had notified us a little bit sooner than the day before and told us that you were waiting on paperwork from such and such doctor, we could have made some calls to that doctor and see if we could get them to send it over. Never mind. Scratch that. We shouldn’t have to be tracking down paperwork for you. That is what you get paid to do, isn’t it?
Sorry. Just a little frustrated. I’ll let you know when this gets rescheduled. And hopefully next time they don’t drop the ball and actually get all of the paperwork they need!
On a brighter note, at least Stacy and James were able to get out for a little bit this afternoon and go for a walk. The sun was out and temps were in the 50s.
