If you’re on Facebook, you’ve undoubtedly seen someone posting about some sort of “post a picture every day for X days challenge”. At the beginning of the month, one of Stacy’s friends nominated her to complete a ten day “Being a Mom” challenge. The rules were simple. Every day for ten days she would need to select a picture from a day in the life of being a mom and post it without a single explanation and nominate someone else to take the challenge. Ten days, ten photos, ten nominations, and zero explanations.

This is a collection of those ten pictures she chose to illustrate what being James’ mom looks like.

Day 1

James with short dark hair rests his head on cushion, wearing a dark shirt with red patterns. Soft light comes from a nearby window with blinds, and a light-colored wall fills the background. The scene feels peaceful and still, focused on a quiet moment indoors.

Day 2

James lying on a colorful quilt while wearing a white long‑sleeve shirt, gray pants, blue socks, and a blue plaid necktie. The baby rests on a plaid bedspread with bright patterns like bees and trees on the quilt.

Day 3

Stacy sitting on a wooden chair holding James dressed in Grease‑themed Halloween costumes, with Stacy wearing a red poodle‑skirt‑style costume piece, in a bright dining room with light wood floors, a red rug by a glass door, and a wooden sideboard decorated with candles and glassware.

Day 4

James is wearing glasses and rests his head against Stacy's arm as he sits in her lap. He is dressed in a shirt with an orange‑and‑black raccoon face design. A red background fills the space behind them, giving the scene a cozy, close‑in feel.

Day 5

Stacy, Jeff, and James are gathered in a room with a reddish‑orange wall. In the foreground, Stacy sits on a chair holding James who is perched on a wooden table; both wear green shirts, and Stacy's dark hair has a purple streak. james leans forward with their mouth open, close toStacy's face. In the background, Jeff, wearing a dark green shirt and green beads, holds a jar with a drink and looks toward Stacy and James. A decorative circular wall piece hangs behind them, giving the scene a casual, homey feel.

Day 6

James lies on a pillow patterned with small construction vehicles. He wears a bright blue wig and a colorful tie‑dye shirt with a comic‑style burst graphic that reads “I AM ATE!” The overall look is fun and spirited, capturing a lighthearted, costume‑like moment.

Day 7

A close-up shows a pregnant belly, with the person wearing a patterned shirt. They hold a small card in front of their stomach that reads “Hi, I’m James,” with a tiny heart dotting the “i.” The scene feels warm, playful, and centered on introducing the baby in a simple, creative way.

Day 8

James sits in a green plastic seat on a patterned carpet, dressed in a green and white outfit with striped socks and a bib featuring a shamrock and Elmo with the words “Happy St. Patrick’s Day!” James holds a Jameson whiskey bottle, creating a humorous, staged holiday photo. The scene is festive and intentionally playful, centered on St. Patrick’s Day imagery.

Day 9

James sits in his wheelchair wearing a purple hospital gown, a neck brace, and a breathing apparatus connected to a nearby medical monitor displaying vital‑sign data. His legs rest on the wheelchair’s foot supports, and hospital wristbands are visible. The background includes a sink, a toilet, and various medical equipment, indicating a patient room where assisted breathing and mobility support are in use.

Day 10

Black‑and‑white photo of Stacy sitting on a couch with James sitting close next to her. Stacy wears a striped shirt and jeans, gently wrapping their arms around James. He wears a dark sweater, light pants, and sneakers, leaning comfortably against Stacy. A window with blinds and a houseplant sit in the background, giving the scene a quiet, homey feel.
