Now that the pergola roofing project is done, I am going to try to get back on track and get back to posting every two weeks. I can’t make any promises, though, because sometimes life happens. We do have something coming up that might prevent me from sticking to the every two week posting schedule, but I’ll try.

So let’s see…

Last week was a pretty quiet week. Not much happened, except for Stacy gearing up for James’ 6th birthday. It’s six weeks away, but she’s already getting stuff ready. I think I’ve said this before, but we are totally opposite when it comes to things like this. I’d put it off until the week before…or maybe even the week of. Not Stacy. She actually starts thinking about James’ next birthday party the day after his birthday. You may think I’m kidding, but I’m not.

We’ve always had a theme for James’ birthdays and this year is no different. This year’s theme? Minions

Three Minions celebrating together, each holding a colorful treat or dessert, with one blowing a rainbow party horn and all wearing their classic blue overalls.

Now Stacy is on the hunt for anything Minions related. She even bought James Minion socks!

Sorry, but you’re going to have to wait until the end of August to see the pictures from his birthday party.

This week was a little busier. Tuesday Stacy and James attended his IEP meeting and got a tour of the new school he will be going to in the fall. I was unable to attend because I had a golf fundraiser for work. They did join me for dinner at the golf club, but James was having a bit of a rough time with a high heart rate and low sats.

We think this might have been the start of something brewing. More details at the end of this post.

Wednesday was James’ kindergarten graduation, and I’ll be honest…we had a bit of a laugh about this. He missed so much school this year because the district was unable to find (and retain) a nurse to take care of him at school. At the same time, we’re glad he graduated so that he can kiss that school goodbye.

Friday was his last day as a kindergartner and his “girlfriend” gave him an angel necklace to watch over him. We put the necklace on one of his monkey stuff animals that sits over his bed.

So back to James not feeling well at my golf outing dinner. We think that may have been the start of some sort of illness. He seemed to be doing okay after the golf outing, but this weekend has been a bit rough. Friday night he had a distended belly, hiccups and he couldn’t keep his sats up and needed a little bit of an oxygen boost. He also went twelve hours without peeing. Stacy has a magic touch and made him go pee before he went to bed. She has this thing she does where she massages the area by his bladder, which usually results in him going pee.

Yesterday he was continuing to struggle, especially after feedings so we switched him over to Pedialyte, which we continued today. He is starting to come back around so hopefully he continues to get better and doesn’t back track to the point that he ends up in the hospital. We know that James’ health is more important than anything, but this is not the time for him to be getting sick. We have something very exciting happening over the next week or so. I don’t want to reveal what it is just yet. Maybe I’ll be able to share more in the next post. For now, please say a prayer or two for James and his health.
