It’s that time of year again when we raise awareness about Cerebral Palsy. Stacy has been posting daily facts about cerebral palsy on the Fans of James Facebook page and will continue to do so throughout the month. This is part 1 of those posts which will be a collection of the first sixteen daily facts. At the end of the month, I’ll put up part 2 that will include the facts for the second half of March.
Don’t forget that Stacy is having a Thirty-One fundraiser where 20% of sales will go to United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Chicago. Last year she raised $100. So far, she’s at $75 this year. Any size order helps.
Thank you Firefly for putting these facts together to help raise awareness about CP.
Day 1
CP may not be contagious, but James’ smile & spirit is.
Day 2
The stroke that James had in utero is the cause of his Cerebral Palsy.
Day 3
Day 3: Yep. It was the in utero stroke that caused James’ CP.
Day 4
James is smarter than everyone! He sees and hears everything.
Day 5
James is not done with this world. He will be around for years to come.
Day 6
James will never walk but he enjoys being pushed around in his stander. He feels like the king of the school.
Day 7
His teachers have told Stacy at conferences that he is a chatter box at school.
Day 8
He’s just a kid. Nothing more, nothing less.
Day 9
James was full term. He was the big boy in his pod in the NICU.
Day 10
This is why we have an annual fundraiser, to help organizations find ways to PREVENT CP.

Day 13
Like I said for Day 12, James is like Mayor of his school, which can be a stressful job.
Day 14
His muscle tightness has gotten better from physical therapy, occupational therapy and the chiropractor.
Day 15
Day 16
The Winter Olympics did not take place this year. Just like the Summer Olymipcs, they happen every four years; the last one taking place last year, and the next one coming up in 2022.
