After James was diagnosed with infantile spasms (IS), both Stacy and I started looking up all of the information we could find about infantile spasms. Stacy even joined an infantile spasms support group on Facebook. One of the women in that group just lost their son due to complications from his seizures. He was just a few days shy of his 3rd birthday.

One of the other parents in the group posted this:

“this is a reminder to cherish each day & cherish each & every one of the people you love.”

This is very true. If there is one thing we have learned after having James, it’s that life is fragile, life is precious, and you just never know how many days or hours on your clock. When your time is up, your time is up. On that note, I am going to kiss James goodnight and probably watch him sleep for a little bit before I go to bed.
