On Tuesday James had a follow up with the surgeon that performed his “berry surgery” on February 3rd. He said that the testes looked good, but the one that he brought down doesn’t seem like it is all the way down. He warned us about this prior to surgery; he said that there was a chance that the teste might work its way back up. If that’s the case, then it would more than likely need to be removed. He wants to do another follow-up in July and see where it’s at.
On Wednesday Stacy took James to the neurologist. He made some adjustments to his seizure medications and recommended a neurologist in Chicago that knows more about the ketogenic diet for infantile spasms than he does. We’ll need to schedule an appointment with her to discuss starting James on this diet. Or at least see if she thinks this diet will work for him. Something has to cure James of these spams. We won’t stop until we find it!
Today James went to see a physiatrist, which is a doctor that specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of people disabled by disease, disorder or injury. (https://www.physiatry.org/page/WhatIsPhysiatry). We went to see her for her opinion to see if we are doing everything we should be doing, or if there are other things, treatments, etc., that we should be looking at. Her only recommendation was to have James fitted for larger AFOs and wrist guards.
