Traveling with a disabled child is a bit of a challenge sometimes. It’s not just a car seat and a stroller. It’s a car seat, a stroller, the pulse ox, and the suction machine. And if we happen to be travelling during a feeding/med time, it is also the feeding pump, the medicine, and water to administer the medications. And let’s not forget that we live in a 2nd floor condo without an elevator so it’s a few trips to bring James and all of his stuff down…and then bring everything back up when we get home.

Before we had James, Stacy and I used to go grocery shopping together. Since James came into our lives, I usually go grocery shopping alone. Today we decided to go to Meijer as a family. I really wish we had taken some pictures. I usually buy two weeks’ worth of food so I don’t have to go to the store every week. This is usually not a problem when it’s just me in the car. But when you have all of your groceries, plus the 3 of us, plus James’ stroller, the car gets really cramped. We have a Ford Edge so it has some room, but it felt really small driving home. It was a tad claustrophobic. Again, I wish I had some pictures. Maybe next time.
