January 20th has been designated as the International Day of Acceptance, which was started by Annie Hopkins, a local woman and the inspiration and co-founder of 3E Love. Unfortunately, Annie passed away in 2009, but her dream and vision lives on. Being someone with a disability, she dreamed of a world in which people would see her for who she was, not what she looked like, or her disabilities. This really should apply to everybody, disabled or not. We are all different in our own way, but that’s what makes us all special and unique.
