Because James was in the hospital just a couple of weeks ago, we decided to stay home for Christmas. We didn’t want to risk James getting sick again. Normally we would spend Christmas Eve at my mom’s with my side of the family and Christmas Day with Stacy’s side of the family. This year my mom, sister and James’ cousin Sarah came over on Christmas Eve and Stacy’s parents came over on Christmas Day. It was nice and low key.

And although we didn’t manage to get a pic of James by our Christmas tree for our Christmas card like we wanted, we did get a pic of him by the tree today:

A small decorated Christmas tree glows with lights and assorted ornaments, with wrapped presents and a white envelope arranged beneath it. To the right, James sits in a cushioned baby chair wearing a white outfit featuring a Santa design and red‑and‑white striped pants. The cozy living space, with carpeted flooring and a wooden cabinet in the background, frames a festive holiday moment centered on James and the tree.

Hopefully next year James will get to experience a normal Christmas.
