Kindergarten

1st day of kindergarten

James started kindergarten this past week and I have some amazing news to share. I mentioned in a previous post that the school district decided to use a different agency to provide one-on-one nurses for kids like James that need them. That meant that James was not only going to be at a new school, have a new teacher, and new classmates, but he was also going to have a new one-on-one nurse. Everything was going to be new and unfamiliar to him.

We are happy to announce that James is in kindergarten with at least one familiar face…his nurse! How, you may ask. His nurse loves him so much that she applied for (and got) a job at the new nursing agency so that she could continue to be with him at school. How awesome is that?!

Birthday Boy

Collage of six photos showing James growing from newborn to age five, including a swaddled infant, a toddler in a birthday crown eating cupcakes, a two‑year‑old in glasses wearing a themed shirt, a preschooler in a red “Thing 3” shirt beside a Cat in the Hat toy, a four‑year‑old in glasses wearing a gray shirt with a yellow number four, and a five‑year‑old wearing a blue “Super Star” shirt.

We may have celebrated James’ 5th birthday last weekend, but he didn’t officially turn 5 until Friday. They had a little celebration for him at school.

Two people in a classroom setting, with one holding a pink lightning‑bolt mask on a stick and James in a wheelchair wearing a colorful “Birthday” headband, surrounded by blue chairs, tables, and labeled shelves.

The Paw Patrol even left James a message to wish him a happy birthday. For those of you that may not know, The Paw Patrol is a cartoon on Nick Jr.

Wedding Vow Renewal

Stacy and I did it. We renewed our wedding vows…along with lots of other couples. A local jeweler was trying to set a record for the most vow renewals at one time, so Stacy and I signed up. James was our best man.

There were quite a few people there, but I’m not sure if was enough to set a record. We haven’t heard anything yet.
