Yeah, I know I missed last week’s post. It was a quiet week so there wasn’t much to post about, other than Stacy and James going for a three-mile walk. She didn’t take any pictures, so did it really happen?
This week Stacy started to put her feelers out to see if anyone has any recommendations for an ENT closer to home. We like James’ current ENT. He’s very good, but Stacy travelling alone with James to doctors 30 minutes away is sometimes difficult. Because James requires frequent suctioning, Stacy needs to pull over and give him suction several times on the way to the doctor, so that 30-minute drive can easily turn into 45 minutes or an hour. If we had a doctor that was closer, it would be much easier on the both of them.
On Tuesday James had some yellow/cloudy discharge from his nose. Normally that means his body is fighting something so the pediatrician put him on a ten-day round of antibiotics.
Stacy put a call into neurology to see if James could do a video EEG (VEEG) to see what’s going on in his brain. He’s all for it so we’ll get something scheduled sometime in the next month or so. I’m curious to see how it compares to his previous EEGs. Will it be better, worse, or about the same?
On Wednesday James started a new formula, Peptamin Jr.
Friday James received a surprise box in the mail. It was full of gifts from a family friend. Thank you, Mary. That was very sweet of you.
I know this is last minute notice, but tomorrow, Monday, March 26th is Epilepsy Awareness Day. Please wear purple to show your support for James and everyone that suffers from Epilepsy.
