I heard a song today that I’ve probably heard a hundred times before, but today it got me thinking. The song “Don’t Laugh at Me” by Mark Wills talks about being different and how other people see you and asks that you don’t laugh at them. James is a lot different than normal kids. I worry about the world that he is going to grow up in. With so many disabilities, I wonder how the world is going to see him. Will people make fun of him and call him names? Or will people be accepting of him and look past all of his disabilities?
Here’s the song if you want to listen to it:
“Don’t laugh at me, don’t call me names
In God’s eyes we’re all the same
Someday we’ll all have perfect wings
Don’t laugh at me”
Mark Wills
