We took James for a follow up appointment with the neuro-ophthalmologist (eye doctor) to see if there has been any change in James’ eyes since he started taking Sabril to treat his infantile spasms. It looks like all of our prayers worked. The eye doc did not see any noticeable changes in James’ eyes. Thank God! And thanks to all of you that prayed for James, too.
Stacy called the neurologist to discuss doing a 48-hour EEG to see if there have been any changes in James’ seizures and/or infantile spasms and what our next steps should be. He recommended that we do an at home video EEG (VEEG). We did not know this was an option, but we are all for it. It would be a lot easier to do this at home and not have to be stuck in a hospital for 2 days. Stacy will call in the next couple of days to get that set up.
The neurologist also suggested that we should try going back to the 2 doses a day of Sabril. We tried doing the second dose a couple of weeks ago and James seemed to have a bad reaction to the second dose. It is possible that there was something else going on with James that caused the reaction and not the Sabril so we will try the second dose again and see what happens. Everyone keep your fingers crossed!
