When we got to the NICU in the afternoon James had nothing on his face! The ventilator they put him on after surgery yesterday had been removed, and he no longer had the NG- and NJ-tubes coming out of his nose. He has to feel so much better with that crap gone!
After we spent a few hours with James, Stacy and I ran upstairs to the cafeteria to grab some dinner. When we got back to the NICU, James got his old bed back. He had been in another bed for his surgeries yesterday. One of the NICU nurses was in the process of setting up his original NICU bed so Stacy held James for a little bit while the nurse got things setup. Stacy said he’s getting to be a bit heavy and that her arm started to fall asleep.
Sorry that the pic is a little bit dark, but here is what James’ G-Tube looks like. We’ll get instructed on how it works when he starts using it for his feeds.
