James had an EEG this morning to test for this new “quirk” he started doing last week. We’re calling it a quirk because we don’t know what they are. When we saw the neurologist on Monday, we tried to describe them the best we could. We said that James throws his arms up, and his head jerks from left to right. Sometimes he only has one or two of these; other times there are several in a row. Based on our description, the neurologist suggested that they may be infantile spasms and wanted James to get an EEG to see if that is what they were or if there was something else going on.

The neurologist called us this evening with the results of the EEG. The good news is that they are not infantile spasms. Thank God! The bad news is that they don’t know what they are. So, what do we do now? I guess we’ll talk with some of James’ other doctors to see if they have any thoughts about these quirks.
