School

James’ school had a spirt week last week. Wait, another spirit week? Didn’t he just have one? Yep. They had a spirit week the last week of January…and if you remember, they had one right before the holiday break.

Earlier in the month they went on a fieldtrip to a pet store where he got to see some fish and hold a puppy.

They didn’t have school on February 14th, so James wore his Valentine’s outfit to school on the 13th:

Here’s another short video from physical therapy. He’s still working hard and getting better at moving his head from side to side.

My Wife the Hero

A few weeks ago, Stacy was on her way to a client’s house to take their dog for a walk when she witnessed a car accident. There was a pregnant woman trapped in one of the cars. They couldn’t get the door open, and the interior started to fill with smoke. Stacy ran back to her car and grabbed a tool that her parents had given her that was designed for situations like this. One end is a hammer to break the glass, and on the other end is a seatbelt cutter. Stacy used it to break the window and help the woman out.

Stacy stayed with her until the paramedics arrived. They didn’t exchange phone numbers or anything, so we don’t know how the woman and her baby are. We just hope that they’re both okay.

Random Stuff

Winter is hard. It’s too cold to go out and do much which means that we’re stuck inside on the weekends watching TV and movies. Back to the Future is probably my all-time favorite movie. I had bought the trilogy on DVD awhile back and I thought James was old enough to enjoy them. One weekend we watched the first one, the following weekend we watched Part II, and last weekend we watched Part III. I don’t know if James enjoyed it as much as I did, but that’s okay. He doesn’t have to like the same things that his daddy does. Stacy saw that an episode of the old Wonder Woman TV show was on, so she had James watch that. I think he liked it better than Back to the Future. Could it be because Wonder Woman resembles his mom? Maybe.

Last Sunday Stacy brought home one of the dogs that she walks. We’re getting James used to being around dogs. He doesn’t seem to have any negative reactions, either emotional or allergy, so we may be getting closer to adding a dog to our family.

Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month

Now that we’re in March, you’ll be seeing daily cerebral palsy facts on James’ Facebook page. I’ll create two separate blog posts with the facts…one on the 15th with facts from days 1 through 15, and another one on the 31st with days 16 through 31.

As usual, Stacy is having her annual Thirty-One online party where a portion of sales will be donated to United Cerebral Palsy Center for Disability Services.
