James had a longer neurology appointment on Tuesday. Normally the appointments are just checkups to see how things are going and possible med changes. This time the neuro wanted James to have an EEG first so he could see if there are any changes since his last EEG. The good news is that the EEG does look better, but the bad news is that we still don’t know how to get rid of the spasms that James has been having. We’ve been trying to get these spasms on video to show the neurologist, but they happen so quickly, by the time we grab for the camera, they’re over.

The doc made a couple of med changes…upped the dose on one seizure med, and next week we’ll cut out another one of the seizure meds that James is taking. I feel like we’re just throwing darts at a dartboard to see what sticks. Sooner or later something has to stick, right?

On Thursday Stacy and James had some playtime with Elmo. Here’s the video she took:

Today we went to Stacy’s parent’s house. They happened to be watering the lawn, so Stacy decided to take James through the sprinkler. We’re not sure if he liked it or not.

Adult holding a shirtless child outdoors in a sunny, grassy yard, with the child wearing a colorful diaper, glasses, and a beaded necklace, and a g-tube button with medical gauze underneath is visible on the abdomen; dappled shade from tree branches falls across them as they stand near a house and trees.
“Daddy, we’re all wet!”

Adult in a red tank top holding a young child outdoors on a grassy lawn, partially shaded by trees; the child is mostly obscured except for a diaper, and colorful objects lie scattered in the background near a sidewalk and fence.
“Okay James, let’s get out of here!”

Stacy also took him for a couple of rides down the slide:
