I wanted to post about this after the new year, but with James being in the hospital for the first two weeks of the year, I am just now getting around to this.
As some of you may know, we have been primarily living off only my income since James was born. Prior to James being born, Stacy was an early childhood special education teacher, and we were good at putting money into savings every month. We are extremely thankful that we did that, because that money has helped us survive living on one income for the past five and a half years. As much as we try not to dip into our savings, we unfortunately have to often just make ends meet. Sooner or later that savings account will be depleted.
I just want to point out that any money that you may have donated to James’ medical fund over the years is kept in a separate account and is used specifically for James. Any medical bills or prescriptions that insurance doesn’t cover comes out of that account. We also use funds in that account to buy medical supplies such as suction catheters and pulse ox probes. Thank you for your generosity. It really means a lot to us.
Back to the subject of this post. As you probably realize, Stacy has her hands pretty full with everything James, but she still wants to do what she can to bring in a little bit of money. Shortly after James was born, she started Stacy Rae Creations, where she makes and sells birthday shirts, bibs, and g-tube belts, among other things. She brings in a little bit of money from this, but still wanted to do more to contribute to the family…as if everything she does for James isn’t a big enough contribution! She has been told by a few people that she would make a good Beachbody coach, or a Thirty-One consultant. She gave it some thought, and as of December 31st, 2014, Stacy is now a Thirty-One Gifts consultant.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Thirty-One, they sell some really nice canvas bags, totes, backpacks, and other things. We have been using some of their bags and totes and came in handy for our most recent hospital stay. In the pic below, the red tote, black bag with white and gray polka-dots and cooler bag at the bottom of the picture are all Thirty-One items.
If you are interested in supporting Stacy (and us), and you’re on Facebook, please join her private group, “Tote-Ally Stacy”. You will be able to shop for loved ones (or yourself), get updates on new products, hangout and talk about bags, or work with Stacy to host your own Thirty-One party. Think of it as a Tupperware party, but with bags.
