As part of early intervention (EI) in the state of Illinois, James gets many therapies. For occupational (OT), physical (PT), and vision therapies, the therapists come to the house, which is really nice. Unfortunately, they don’t have a speech therapist that comes to the house, so James has to go to a pediatric therapy center for speech.
Stacy took James to his first speech session today. As the therapist was looking over his medical info, she noticed our last name, and asked Stacy if she was related to a Jeff Fulkerson. Of course, Stacy said that that was her husband. The therapist then told Stacy that she went to school with me.
When I got home from work, Stacy asked me if I knew a Katie _____________. I said “yes, why?” She then told me that that is James’ speech therapist. “You’re kidding! Really?”
I then proceeded to go down to the garage and pulled my senior year high school yearbook out of storage. I took it back upstairs and showed her a picture of Katie and asked if that was the therapist. “Yep, that’s her.”
Such a small world!
