Did the title of this post pique your interest? Sorry. I am a little tired and wasn’t sure how to title this post so I just wrote the first thing that came to mind.
When James was born, one of his testes wasn’t descended into the scrotum. One of his testicles dropped like it was supposed to, but the other one didn’t. We went to see a surgeon today to see what our options were. The surgeon said that this is called cryptorchidism and it is not that uncommon. It is one of most common birth defects of the male genitals and affects 1 out of every 100 or so baby boys. He said that James could have surgery to bring it down any time before he is 2 years old.
James is about 10 months old now so we have more than a year to see if it drops on its own. The chiropractor James has been going to said that he can work on that area to see if he can help the testicle come down. If it doesn’t drop in the next 6 months, we will start looking at surgery to bring it down.
