You guys! It’s been a week since the fundraiser, and we are still in awe. We just can’t find the words that truly express how grateful we are to all of you that made Rollin’ for James a hugely successful event. It was beyond anything that we could have imagined. We were (and still are) completely blown away by the overwhelming support and generosity of so many of you.

Because of you we were able to raise enough money to buy a wheelchair accessible van and have some money left over for medical expenses. We have been discussing the possibility of making one of our bathrooms more handicap accessible for James, so we may start looking into that. But first things first. We need to start shopping for a van. Thank you all again for making this possible.

I wanted to share some photos of the event, but I’m leery about posting pictures of people without getting their permission first. Here are a couple of pictures where you can’t really see people’s faces, so I hope these are okay to post.

View from behind a DJ booth at a large indoor community event, with speakers and sound equipment in the foreground and a crowded hall of guests seated at round tables in the background, decorated with clusters of purple and green balloons and several volunteeers wearing bright green “Team James” shirts.

Large indoor banquet hall filled with round tables covered in white tablecloths, with guests seated, dining, and mingling under bright recessed lighting, while clusters of green and purple balloons decorate the room, creating a lively community celebration atmosphere.

We even made the news, which I guess was to be expected since Robin Baumgarten from WGN News was there. We recorded it to our DVR but couldn’t figure out how to share it from there. Stacy played our news clip on the TV and recorded the TV with her cellphone. Sorry for the bad video quality. It’s the best we could do. You may need to turn up your volume a bit to hear it.

Thank you all again for making this such a successful event. We are eternally grateful.
