A few weeks ago, James went to see a neuro eye doctor. One of the doctor’s recommendations was to schedule a Visual Evoked Potential test with neurology. We took James to have this test done today.
For the Visual Evoked Potential test, or VEP, they attached electrodes to James’ head and on his face just below the eyes. After he was all wired up, the doctor displayed different pictures and patterns on a screen. The goal of the test is to determine if James’ eyes pass information to his brain. When he was in the NICU, it was discovered that the optic nerve in his left eye wasn’t fully developed so we are curious to hear the results of this test.
