Ever since James came home from the NICU in October of 2009, we have had lots of support from various services. We have home health from the hospital which provides all of James equipment (pulse ox, suction machine, nebulizer for breathing treatments, oxygen tanks, etc.); we have early intervention (EI) through the state of Illinois which provides James with therapies (occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech, and vision); and we have nursing care through a local palliative care organization.
Stacy was just informed today that we may be losing nursing care. Apparently, Stacy is doing such a good job of keeping James healthy that they don’t think it’s necessary to have a nurse come over every couple of weeks to check in on James. While I agree that Stacy is doing an awesome job with James, it was nice to know that we had nursing on standby when needed. Hopefully we can still keep them on standby even if they don’t come over every other week.
