I don’t know why, but this post is hard for me to write. I’ve been staring at this computer screen for about an hour now trying to find the right words to express how thankful I am for James’ amazing fans. I think Stacy said it best in the post she put on James’ Facebook page on Thursday:

“I just wanted to take a moment out to say how much this holiday season has been so WONDERFUL!! Over the course of the last few weeks we have received several letters in the mail with checks for James to help with his van or help defer medical costs. Most of these families we have never met face to face, they have just been following James’ page since the beginning.

We are still far away from our goal but this holiday season, 10 families donated a total of $2,000 of their Christmas gift money towards James.

Jeff, James and I are VERY BLESSED to have so many loving people in our lives. I cannot thank you all enough!!!”

When we started sharing James’ story through his Facebook page and this blog, it was to keep friends and family up to date on what was going on with James. We never imagined he would gain such a following, or that we’d have such an outpouring of support. Especially not from people we have never met.

For those of you who have been following James, either through this blog or on his Facebook page, or both, thank you. Thank you for your kind words, support, letters, and donations. Raising a kid with special needs is not easy. I have no experience raising a normal kid so I have nothing to compare it to, but I assume that raising a kid with special needs is harder than that. All of you have made it a little bit easier.

We hope that all of you had a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, or whichever holiday you celebrated. From the three of us to all of you, thank you!
