James is now completely weaned off of ACTH. Unfortunately, it did not work for him. There was very little change in his infantile spasms. We were originally going to switch to Sabril/vigabatrin, but after reading over the paperwork that we had to sign before he could start taking it, we decided to hold off on that one for now. In case you missed it, I posted some of the warnings about Sabril/vigabatrin here. Instead of going to Sabril, we are going to try Keppra first. Keppra is an anticonvulsant medication that is used to treat seizures. There have also been some positive results in using Keppra to treat infantile spasms. James will start taking it in a couple of days. Fingers crossed!
