So last night around 10:30 pm, we were awoken by James making noises through the baby monitor. I got up to see what was going on. He was having some of his spasms. But instead of the usual one or two, it was a large cluster of them. They seemed to last about an hour. Whenever he has a spasm, he gets upset, and when he gets upset, his sats drop because he is getting himself all worked up. It’s like a big snowball effect. One thing leads to another, which leads to another, and another.

When he was finally done with the spasms, I couldn’t get his sats back up so I decided to give him a breathing treatment around midnight to see if that would help. His sats were bouncing all over the place! I started to get frustrated, and since Stacy is usually the calmer one, I woke her up at about 12:45 am to have her assess the situation.

Stacy thought that the pulse ox might not be working right since his stats were bouncing around so much. She put a call into home health and they dropped off a new one at 2:20 am.

I went to bed shortly after the new pulse ox was delivered and Stacy stayed up with James. She eventually got things under control. Maybe James just needed his momma. Or Stacy just has a magic touch. Or both!
