First Time Meeting Santa Claus

Because James wound up in the hospital with pneumonia after Thanksgiving in 2009 and again in 2010, we thought it was best to limit his exposure to the outdoors those two winters. Unfortunately, that meant that he was unable to meet Santa Claus. This year was different. He was sick prior to Thanksgiving, but we—mostly Stacy—were able to nurse him back to health without a hospital stay. So, we thought it was time for James to meet ‘the fat man’.

On Wednesday we took him to see Santa Claus for the first time. There is a local not-for-profit organization that puts on events for children with disabilities throughout the year. One of those events is meeting Santa Claus. Since the event is right across the street from where I work, Stacy and James met me at work on Wednesday night and we walked over.

Notice James’ fancy shirt? That’s one of Stacy’s specialties. If you want to see what else she makes, check out her Facebook Page, Stacy Rae Creations.

Modeling Gig

On Thursday James had a little modeling gig. He needs to earn his keep, right?

Proud Shirts

In the Fever, Epilepsy Awareness, a Pirate, and a Greaser post from late October, I mentioned a local company, 3E Love, offering a special on any purple clothing for Epilepsy Awareness Month. Stacy ordered us some more shirts, and we will wear them proud.

T‑shirts laid flat showing a dark green “Proud Dad” shirt and a pink “Proud Mom” shirt, each featuring a stylized wheelchair‑heart symbol in place of the letter O in proud, with size stickers near the collars.
