“What an insult to ANYONE who suffers from seizures!!She made a complete ASS of herself!! Having a seizure regardless of your age is no joke! To say on TV no less she would “fake a seizure” to get out of being a bridesmaid… WTF is wrong with people!!! Seizures suck ASS!”

~ Stacy

Stacy posted the above quote on Facebook earlier today. When I asked her what this was about, she informed me that Joy Behar, one of the hosts of “The View”, said on the show that she would fake a seizure to get out of being a bridesmaid. Are you freaking kidding me?! I understand that she is a comedian and she probably thought it was funny, but there is absolutely nothing funny about seizures. Lucky for her she probably has never watch a loved one have a seizure and felt so helpless because there was nothing she could do to stop it.

I propose two options here. Option number one is that Joy gets fired. I’m an insignificant person so “The View” probably won’t listen to me. So here is option number two. Any company that is currently running advertising on “The View” needs to pull their ads. Actually, companies should really be thinking about pulling their ads anyway. I mean, do you really want your company associated with this show after someone openly mocked people who suffer from a debilitating disorder? Do you realize that there are over 3 million people in the United States that have epilepsy? Add to that the number of family members and friends of those who have epilepsy. We’ll use my family as an example. Our son, James, has epilepsy. So there’s my wife and I; my parents; my wife’s parents; my sister and her husband; my wife’s brother and his wife. That’s 10 people that are close relatives to James. Now imagine that all 3 million people that have epilepsy also have 10 close relatives. That’s 30 million people that either have epilepsy or know someone that has epilepsy. How many of those 30 million people currently buy your products? Take a stand. Put compassion over profits. Tell “The View” that you will pull your advertising dollars unless Joy is terminated. Maybe they will listen to you.
