Shortly after we stopped the ketogenic diet, James’ seizure were crazy so we decided to try RELIV to see if that would help. A couple of weeks ago we started with ½ a tablespoon to see how he handled it. The seizures seemed to have lessened a little bit so on Monday we increased it to 1 tablespoon. Now we just have to wait and see if the seizures decrease even more.
On Tuesday a group of special needs families was invited to the Chicago Lighthouse’s newest location because they were doing a news segment about it and were looking for “clients” to be in some of the shots. I guess you could call us extras. This was taken from their website:
“The Chicago Lighthouse is a world-renowned social service organization serving the blind, visually impaired, disabled and Veteran communities. Recognized as a pioneer in innovation since 1906, The Chicago Lighthouse provides vision rehabilitation services, education, employment opportunities and assistive technology for people of all ages.”
We’re not sure when (or if) the news story will be aired. If it does, hopefully I’ll be able to share it here. We were all wearing red because it was Valentine’s Day.
Here’s a little tidbit you may find interesting. Did you know that St. Valentine is the patron saint of epilepsy? It’s true. If you don’t believe me, do a search for ‘patron saint of epilepsy’ and see who pops up.
