Monday was Epilepsy Awareness Day. I know I gave you very short notice, but did you wear purple? We did:

Be prepared to wear purple again during May, which is pediatric stroke awareness month, and they also use purple as their color.

On Thursday Stacy took James to the neurologist. They discussed doing a VEEG (video EEG) in the next few weeks and also a MEG scan to see if they can determine where the seizures are coming from. If the seizures are occurring in a centralized area, James might be a candidate for surgery. The doc also wants to start James on a different seizure medication, and phase out one of the meds he is currently on.

In my February 19th post I mentioned that we might be on the news. Here is what I wrote in that post:

On Tuesday (February 14th) a group of special needs families was invited to The Chicago Lighthouse’s newest location because they were doing a news segment about it and were looking for “clients” to be in some of the shots. I guess you could call us extras. This was taken from their website: The Chicago Lighthouse is a world-renowned social service organization serving the blind, visually impaired, disabled and Veteran communities. Recognized as a pioneer in innovation since 1906, The Chicago Lighthouse provides vision rehabilitation services, education, employment opportunities and assistive technology for people of all ages.”

That news story aired this past Thursday, and I’ve included the clip below. You can see me and Stacy at the 34 second mark, and you can see all three of us at 2:27 on the right-hand side. If you blink, you’ll miss us.

Did you see us? If you missed us and want to go back a try to find us again, here is a pic I took of Stacy and James so you can see what they were wearing. It was Valentine’s Day, so we were all wearing red.
