Today is Stacy’s birthday. Happy 30th Stacy! It’s interesting to note that James, Stacy, and Stacy’s dad are almost exactly 30 years apart in age. James was born on August 29th, Stacy’s 30th is today, and Stacy’s dad will be 60 on October 16th. So, what did we do to celebrate Stacy’s 30th? Unfortunately, with James still in the NICU, we didn’t do much to celebrate her birthday this year. We went through our normal weekend routine…woke up, had some breakfast, and headed off to the NICU to see our little guy. When we got there, we saw that James had made mommy a card when he should have been sleeping.

Handmade birthday card with a red polka‑dot background, colorful foam letters reading ‘HAPPY BIRTH DAY MOMMY Love ♥ James Jackson,’ the date ‘09/27/09’ in the top left corner, and two photos of a newborn in a hospital setting with medical tubes attached.

Stacy brought a plain white onesie and some markers and decorated the onesie with “Happy 30th Mommy”.

James had a great day today. Perhaps he was on his best behavior because it was mommy’s birthday. Keep it up James. Keep having good days like this.

They changed his feeds yet again. Now he is eating 60 ml of breastmilk over 3 hours at every 5, 9 and 1…5 am, 9 am, 1 pm, 5 pm, 9 pm, 1 am.
